Most Salsa activity around PP revolves around DJ jimmy SALSA. 

DJ Jimmy has been in PP since 2008. Originally from UK, Jimmy had been resident in Australia before coming to Cambodia. He has been dancing Salsa since 2006 and had been DJing Salsa music at private parties and friends social gatherings before arriving in the Kingdom. 

When he arrived in PP he sought out the Salsa scene and was disappointed not to find any. He started teaching basic step Salsa and playing Salsa music at FCC in November 2008. Slowly he began to have some Salsa parties around town most notably at, the now closed down, Talkin’ to a Stranger and Pacharan. DJ Jimmy gives beginner's level 1,2 & 3 classes and private classes at the same level. 

Things changed in 2009 when Michael arrived in PP and assisted Jimmy with setting up a Website to promote and advertise Salsa in PP and Cambodia. Michael can provide workshops and private lessons on intermediate level when he has free time in his busy schedule.

Today Salsa is becoming more and more popular. 

DJ Jimmy plays regular parties at Equinox on Wednesdays and Salsa Explosion at FCC on a monthly basis. Other venue owners are now becoming interested in having Salsa events as its popularity grows. 

DJ jimmy plays mainly Latin music, anything from Salsa, Samba, Merenque, Bossa to Bachata. He also has a wide variety of music in his catalogue and can play old school 60s and 70s and genres such as Disco and Funk.
